BMW Rolls Out 2 Millionth BEV, Doubles Sales in Just Two Years
BMW Group recently marked a major milestone in its electrification transformation, with its 2 millionth battery electric vehicle (BEV) officially rolling off the production line at its Dingolfing Plant. The model in question is the i5 M60 xDrive. It is worth noting that BMW only completed the delivery of its 1 millionth BEV globally in April 2024, and it took just two years to make the leap from 1 million to 2 million units. This growth rate is quite remarkable among luxury brands, and clearly demonstrates BMW’s commitment and execution efficiency in its electrification transition.

At the just-concluded 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BMW unveiled 16 world premiere models in one go, including two globally debuting new energy models: the new generation BMW iX3 long-wheelbase version and the i3 long-wheelbase version. Officials stated that the new generation is not just a refresh of a single model, but marks BMW’s full rollout of its innovative technology cluster across its entire product lineup. Over the next two years, BMW will successively launch around 40 new and facelifted models, further accelerating its electrification drive.
