BYD Joins IATF to Co-Develop International Auto Core Standards
BYD Company Limited has officially joined the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). As a global leader in new energy vehicles, BYD will work alongside international automotive giants such as Volkswagen and General Motors to formulate international auto core standards, marking a major breakthrough for Chinese automakers in the field of international standards.

Founded in 1999, the IATF counts the automotive industry associations of the world's five major automotive powers—AIAG (USA), ANFIA (Italy), FIEV (France), SMMT (UK) and VDA (Germany)—as well as several mainstream automakers among its founding members. Renowned for its certification standards and rules, the IATF has established a unified quality management language for the global automotive supply chain, and its certification is widely recognized by numerous mainstream global automakers, serving as a key quality management criterion for entering the international automotive supply chain.
BYD's accession will have a far-reaching impact on the global automotive industry. It not only symbolizes the transformation of China's automotive industry from "quantitative accumulation" to "technological leadership", but also testifies to BYD's core strength as the world's champion enterprise in new energy vehicles. Relying on its technological advantages in electrification and intelligentization, BYD will deepen collaboration with the IATF, its members and institutions such as the International Automotive Oversight Bureau (IAOB), adhering to the common philosophy of "Go Global, Grow Local". It will help the global automotive standard system effectively address the challenges of industrial transformation, ensuring it meets current industry needs and has the ability to evolve sustainably for the future.
