Audi GT50 Concept Car Unveiled to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of Inline-Five-Cylinder Engine
Recently, the apprentice team from Audi's Neckarsulm Training Center officially launched the GT50 retro concept car, which replicates the 1989 RS3 race car to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the brand's inline-five-cylinder engine. According to Audi's official disclosure, the GT50 concept car abandons the rounded lines of modern cars entirely, adopting an angular three-box body proportion to recreate the sharp stance of 1980s race cars. The new car is equipped with an exaggerated aerodynamic kit, turbo fan-style rims, and pays tribute to classic IMSA and Trans-Am race models through a vintage grille design.

As the core of the commemorative model, the GT50 inherits the 2.5L turbocharged inline-five-cylinder engine from the RS3, with a maximum power of 394 horsepower. Unlike conventional performance models, Audi clearly stated that "no additional power tuning has been performed on the engine," and engineers have even retained nearly 100 horsepower of performance potential.
