BYD Semiconductor achieved a landmark milestone: cumulative shipments of its BMS AFE chips have surpassed 100 million units. The BF8915A-1 debuted in 2021 as China’s first mass-produced vehicle-grade BMS analog front-end chip, ending long-term foreign monopolies in this segment. It took only five years to hit the 100-million shipment mark, demonstrating the rapid advancement of domestic automotive semiconductor technology.

The mass-produced BF891X series includes 16-channel and 18-channel variants. After multiple iterations, it serves as the core sensing component for BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast charging platforms. Equipped with a 16-bit Σ-Δ high-precision ADC, the chip controls single-cell voltage measurement error within ±1mV, capturing real-time voltage and temperature data for every cell across all channels in under 1ms. It ensures safety for 1,500kW ultra-high-current fast charging, delivering industry-leading technical specifications.
