On the evening of June 25 local time, Geely held the launch event for the New Coolray at its showroom in Yangon, Myanmar. Corresponding to the Binyue L sold in China, the model is Geely’s first fuel-powered vehicle assembled locally via the SKD mode in Myanmar. Adopting SKD local assembly is more than a sales strategy; it is a response to Myanmar’s industrial policies and a step toward deep localization, signaling Geely’s long-term commitment to the market rather than a short-term export play.

Prior to the launch, Geely had already built an SKD production base together with its local exclusive distributor PAL, with the first batch of vehicles rolling off the line on May 19. For emerging overseas markets, localized production helps control costs, adapt better to local user needs and create local employment, making it easier to gain market and policy recognition. The New Coolray launch marks an important strategic move for Geely in the Southeast Asian fuel vehicle market.
