British luxury brand Jaguar recently announced that its first pure electric luxury four-door GT model will be named Type 01, marking Jaguar’s official entry into the zero-emission era and the start of its comprehensive brand transformation. Positioned as a pure electric flagship, the model will offer a maximum driving range of up to 700 kilometers and will be the first major product of Jaguar’s post-transformation era.

Jaguar officially explained the naming meaning: the "Type" prefix originates from Jaguar’s legendary racing lineage, from the 1951 Le Mans-winning C-TYPE to the iconic E-TYPE and F-TYPE, symbolizing the new car’s continuation of the brand’s sporting genes and luxury quality. The number "0" represents pure electric zero emissions and the brand’s determination to start anew, while "1" signifies its milestone status as the first model of the transformation and its unique positioning.
