It is Volkswagen’s first global sedan with urban NOA capability. The number “5” indicates its midsize‑to‑large sedan positioning, and “S” stands for Sedan and Smart.

Powered by a 1.5T plug‑in hybrid system, the engine delivers a maximum net power of 77kW, the drive motor has a rated power of 57.6kW and peak power of 130kW. The model strengthens Volkswagen’s intelligent new energy sedan lineup.
