Lotus released a teaser image of its new hypercar, scheduled to launch in 2028. The model features an all-new mid-mounted V8 hybrid powertrain. Notably, Lotus officially abandoned its goal of full electrification by 2028, shifting to a parallel strategy of fuel, hybrid, and pure electric vehicles.

Designed by Lotus’ Coventry Design Center, the car draws inspiration from the 2024 Theory 1 EV concept. It boasts an aggressive rear diffuser and large dual circular exhaust outlets. The combined maximum power is expected to exceed 1,000 horsepower, with the V8 engine likely co-developed with Mercedes‑AMG, and production to take place in Europe.
