onsemi and NIO have further expanded their strategic cooperation to jointly advance the development of NIO’s next-generation electric vehicle (EV) platform. At the core of the partnership is onsemi’s latest EliteSiC M3e technology, which will accelerate NIO’s evolution from a 400V to a 900V architecture. The collaboration between the two parties began with the application of onsemi’s EliteSiC technology in NIO’s 400V platform, and this upgrade to system-level strategic synergy underscores both parties’ focus on the high-voltage platform segment.

onsemi’s enhanced EliteSiC M3e technology reduces heat loss in the powertrain to deliver longer driving range, while enabling more powerful and smoother acceleration that remains consistent even under high-speed and high-load conditions. It also supports shorter charging times via the high-voltage fast charging system, with a power system engineered for harsh working conditions to ensure long-term reliability. Notably, this technology will make its debut in NIO’s new flagship SUV ES9 unveiled at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, as well as multiple other upcoming NIO models, serving as the core pillar for NIO’s transition to a high-voltage 900V platform.
