FREELANDER Teases First Model Spy Shots, Launching H2 2026
Shortly after its official brand launch on March 31, FREELANDER has released test spy shots of its first production model, confirming it will make its Chinese debut in the second half of 2026. According to the brand’s roadmap, it will launch six major models over the next five years, averaging one new vehicle every six months. Despite heavy camouflage, the spy shots clearly show the car is based on the previously unveiled CONCEPT 97 concept car, retaining FREELANDER’s classic boxy off-road silhouette.

The front fascia features a closed design with distinctive rectangular block headlights, while the body boasts sharp, straight lines and practical roof rails. The interior follows a minimalist tech style, equipped with a large floating central screen and a full-width digital instrument panel. The center console includes wireless charging, and the rear seats support multiple folding configurations. Most notably, the entire lineup will come standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS V4.1, feature the world’s first 896-line lidar for all-terrain SUVs, and be powered by a CATL co-developed battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 chip.
