SAIC to Launch Semi-Solid-State Battery Models
SAIC Motor stated via the Shanghai Stock Exchange interactive platform that it will gradually launch mass-produced models equipped with semi-solid-state batteries across multiple brands starting this year, accelerating next-generation battery technology adoption. In sales, SAIC delivered 376,000 vehicles in March, with Q1 wholesale volume reaching 973,000 units (up 3% year-on-year) and retail volume exceeding 1 million units — the only Chinese automaker to hit the million-unit milestone in Q1.

Semi-solid-state batteries offer higher energy density and better safety, enhancing competitiveness in the new-energy sector. SAIC maintains sales leadership while pushing technical innovation, strengthening its leading position in electrification and globalization.
