Pony.ai Teams Up with Verne and Uber to Launch Europe’s First Commercial Robotaxi
Recently, Pony.ai, autonomous mobility service provider Verne, and global mobility platform Uber announced a strategic partnership to deeply collaborate on commercial Robotaxi services. Integrating autonomous driving technology, platform reach, and operational capabilities, the trio will launch Europe’s first commercial Robotaxi service in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Initial deployment and road testing are already underway using the BAIC Arctic Fox AlphaT5 Robotaxi equipped with Pony.ai’s 7th-generation autonomous driving system.

Under the partnership, Pony.ai provides industry-leading autonomous driving solutions to ensure safe and stable operation; Verne owns and operates the fleet, managing daily services; Uber integrates the Robotaxi into its global ride-hailing network, complementing Verne’s user platform to expand coverage. Together, they are building a scalable Robotaxi commercialization model, starting in Zagreb before expanding to more European cities and global markets. The fleet is expected to grow to thousands of vehicles in the coming years. This collaboration not only accelerates the commercial launch of autonomous driving in Europe but also provides a replicable blueprint for the global Robotaxi industry, speeding up the adoption of autonomous mobility services.
