Next-Gen Fuel-Powered Porsche Macan Spotted Testing: Four-Cylinder, V6, and PHEV Versions Coming
Spy shots of the highly anticipated next-generation fuel-powered Porsche Macan have emerged in Europe. The test mule strongly resembles the Audi Q5, but detailed verification confirms it is the new fuel-driven Macan, not an updated Q5. It will share the Volkswagen Group’s PPC premium fuel platform with the Audi Q5 and is scheduled for launch in 2028.

The powertrain lineup will be comprehensively upgraded to include gasoline and plug-in hybrid options: a 2.0T turbo four-cylinder, a 3.0T turbo V6, and a plug-in hybrid system. Two naming possibilities are under consideration: keeping the Macan badge to preserve brand equity, or reviving the old internal codename Cajun to clearly distinguish it from the all-electric Macan and avoid positioning overlap.
