New-Gen BMW i3 Pre-Production Car Rolls Off Line, Mass Production in H2
Recently, the first batch of pre-production cars of the new-generation BMW i3 rolled off the production line at the BMW Group's Munich Plant in Germany, with the official mass production set for the second half of the year. Peter Weber, Head of the Munich Plant, said: "The production of the new-generation i3 pre-production cars is a milestone for the Munich Plant. This is the first time the plant has fully produced an i3, applying advanced manufacturing technologies and digital interconnected processes throughout. Current production is close to the mass production maturity stage, and the logistics and production systems are undergoing a full test under actual operating conditions, covering the upgraded stamping shop, new body shop, advanced painting shop, new final assembly area and an innovative logistics structure. In the coming months, we will continue to optimize processes based on experience from the ramp-up phase to ensure the smooth launch of mass production."
