Recently, GWM Malaysia officially launched the GWM WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV, marking a new milestone in the brand's new energy layout in Malaysia. As the first locally assembled luxury plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV clearly demonstrates GWM's long-term direction of positioning Malaysia as a strategic production base and serving as a regional export hub for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market. The WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV is priced at RM269,800 in the Malaysian market.

The official stated that the first 1,000 WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV owners will receive a complimentary entertainment screen installed in the second row of the car cabin. In addition, they can enjoy 5 years of free in-vehicle network data packages, a 5-year free maintenance package (including parts and labor costs), a complimentary home wall-mounted charging device, an unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty for 6 years, and an 8-year or 180,000-kilometer hybrid system warranty (covering the battery pack, power motor, and control unit).
