Tesla\'s 9 Millionth Global EV Rolls Off Shanghai Factory Line, a Core Pillar
On December 30th, Tesla achieved a historic milestone as its 9 millionth global electric vehicle rolled off the production line at the Shanghai Gigafactory. The landmark model is the popular Model Y. Just on December 8th this month, domestic Tesla had reached the milestone of 4 million vehicles offline, taking less than 14 months to jump from 3 million to 4 million units—a rapid growth that showcases the strength of Chinese smart manufacturing.

As a key production and export base for Tesla globally, the Shanghai Gigafactory has contributed nearly half of the company's global EV deliveries over the past 6 years, with a localization rate exceeding 95%. Thanks to its highly automated production lines, it achieves an efficient output of one vehicle rolling off the line every 30 seconds on average. According to the latest sales forecast data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), Tesla China delivered 86,700 units in November, a year-on-year increase of 10% and a month-on-month rise of 40% from October. Amid fierce market competition, it maintains strong growth momentum, with its product strength and market strategy widely recognized by consumers.
