Jakarta, Indonesia — The Chery Jaecoo J5 EV officially launched in Indonesia, introducing two variants priced between IDR 249.9 million and IDR 299.9 million (approximately RMB 106,600–127,900). The launch further strengthens Chery’s new energy vehicle (NEV) presence in the Southeast Asian market.

The Jaecoo J5 EV adopts a closed front fascia featuring the Jaecoo brand emblem, presenting a clean yet dynamic design. Its streamlined and muscular side profile enhances the SUV’s urban appeal. Measuring 4380 × 1860 × 1650 mm with a 2620 mm wheelbase, the compact SUV is tailored to meet the everyday family needs of Indonesian consumers.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 13.2-inch vertical central touchscreen, ventilated synthetic leather seats (with 6-way power adjustment for the driver), and premium comfort features such as a 50W wireless fast charger, panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade, power tailgate, and power-folding mirrors.

Powering the vehicle is a 210 hp electric motor delivering 288 N·m of peak torque, paired with a 60.9 kWh battery pack that provides up to 461 km of NEDC range, making it well-suited for daily commuting needs. Positioned alongside the Omoda E5, the Jaecoo J5 EV complements Chery’s product portfolio and further deepens the brand’s localization strategy in Indonesia.
