Ford's electric vehicle lineup is set to undergo a major transformation. After 2025, the standard version of the F-150 Lightning will be officially discontinued, replaced by Ford's next-generation F-150 Lightning Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV).

Essentially, the Lightning EREV is still an electric pickup truck technically. It continues to be equipped with a battery pack and electric motors to power all four wheels, retaining the iconic instant torque delivery and acceleration performance of the current Lightning model. The key difference between the two lies in the addition of a gasoline generator in the new car. This configuration significantly improves the vehicle's range, increasing the current model's maximum range of approximately 515 kilometers to over 1,126 kilometers.

Currently, Ford has not released official images of the F-150 Lightning EREV. Beyond the range, details such as the new car's specific powertrain parameters, charging efficiency, and body design remain confidential. Ford stated that more product details will be gradually disclosed in the coming months, and anticipation for this "1,000km+ range" electric pickup truck has surged among the industry and consumers.
