BYD Joins UN Global Compact to Advance Sustainability
On October 26, BYD announced that it formally joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) on September 14, 2026. Following its accession, BYD will fully endorse and implement the compact’s ten principles, deeply integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its corporate strategy and daily operations, and contribute tangible action to global sustainable development. This marks another key milestone for Chinese automakers in the international sustainability arena.

Founded in 2000, the UNGC is the world’s largest international organization advancing corporate sustainability, and the widely recognized ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) framework was first introduced by the organization. It works to embed the ten global compact principles into corporate business and strategy, guiding enterprises to advance sustainability across environmental, social and governance dimensions and deliver on the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Today it has over 25,000 corporate members across more than 160 countries, serving as the core global platform for corporate sustainability cooperation.
