Porsche Mission S Concept Debuts, Honors Pure Driving Heritage
On October 16 (Beijing time), Porsche pulled the cover off the Mission S concept car. Built on Porsche’s mid-engine supercar platform, it serves as the centerpiece of the brand’s “Sportwagenschmiede 35” revival initiative. Its design channels the spirit of iconic classics like the 356 and 550 Spyder, carrying a retro sporting character that is unmistakably Porsche at first glance.

The interior takes a bold stance against the industry’s screen-stuffing trend. There is no traditional central multimedia display; instead, a retractable MagSafe magnetic phone mount takes its place, paired with an array of physical controls, bucket sport seats, racing harnesses and a carbon fiber shift paddle — every element is engineered around the act of driving. Official powertrain specs remain under wraps, but Porsche is reportedly developing an all-new large-displacement horizontally opposed eight-cylinder engine, a clear commitment to preserving the thrill of combustion-powered sports cars.
