On August 3, WeRide announced a strategic partnership with GreenMobility, a local shared electric mobility platform in Denmark, to jointly build Denmark’s first commercial autonomous driving shared mobility project. This marks WeRide’s first entry into the Nordic market, making it the first Chinese Robotaxi enterprise to set up operations in the region, representing another landmark progress for China’s autonomous driving technology going global.

Subject to relevant regulatory approvals, the two parties plan to launch commercial autonomous driving shared mobility services to the public in the first half of 2027. By then, local passengers will be able to experience WeRide’s latest L4 Robotaxi GXR, which fully complies with EU regulations. Previously, Chinese autonomous driving firms mostly expanded in Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets. This entry into the Nordic market also signals that China’s autonomous driving technology has secured access to Europe’s high-end market.
