Shortly after its official pre-sale launch in Japan, the BYD RACCO has secured over 5,000 firm orders with deposits in the first week, outperforming general market expectations. In fact, the RACCO prototype already garnered 30,000 intended orders during its debut at this year’s Tokyo Auto Show, enjoying strong popularity in the local market. The model carries a pre-tax starting price of 2.145 million yen (approximately 88,747 yuan), which boasts strong competitiveness in Japan’s small pure electric vehicle segment.

The RACCO offers two battery configurations: the entry-level variant is fitted with a 22.4kWh battery pack, while the high-end version is equipped with a 35.84kWh pack. Under Japan’s WLTC test cycle, the entry version delivers a cruising range of 210km, and the high-end version can reach 320km, fully covering daily commuting needs. In addition, the vehicle supports DC fast charging at a maximum power of 50kW, with charging efficiency well suited for daily use scenarios, holding clear comprehensive advantages over Japanese domestic models in the same class.
