Following the unveiling of its interior back in May, Audi finally released complete official exterior shots of the Q9 and SQ9 on July 29, fully revealing the brand’s flagship SUV. Per the official roadmap, pre-orders will open across Europe this July, while Chinese customers will have to wait until 2027 for its official domestic launch. As Audi’s flagship model, the Q9 stretches over 5.3 meters in length with a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters. Paired with sharp body creases, it boasts commanding road presence befitting its top-tier positioning. The brand’s signature lighting technology has also received a major upgrade: its full-width taillights feature third-generation digital OLED technology, capable of switching between multiple light patterns for different driving scenarios, delivering standout visual identity alongside enhanced practicality.

The interior carries forward Audi’s latest family design language, featuring a triple-screen layout with a digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen and passenger entertainment display that creates an immersive tech-focused cabin, complemented by a head-up display (HUD). In terms of powertrains, the launch variant for the German market pairs a 3.0T V6 diesel engine with a mild-hybrid system, generating a maximum output of 220 kW and peak torque of 630 N·m, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. Standard equipment includes adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering. Built on the PPC platform, the China-spec Q9 will offer additional powertrain options including V6, V8 and plug-in hybrid setups to cater to diverse consumer demands.
