Recently, Avatr Automobile officially announced that the Avatr 12 has arrived in Antarctica and officially started its scientific expedition journey. It stated that as the world’s first new energy sedan to land in Antarctica, the vehicle will face the extreme cold of -50℃ and brave the "no-man’s land".

In October 2025, Zhang Zhihong of Avatr revealed on social media that the Avatr 12 will set out for Antarctica and the new energy vehicle Antarctic scientific expedition team is about to depart. It is reported that the Avatr 12 will become the world’s first new energy sedan to land in Antarctica, launching vehicle testing and technical verification in polar environments and filling the gap in the field of polar new energy vehicle testing.
