On July 4, Chery officially announced the launch of its Rosslyn manufacturing facility in South Africa, undergoing comprehensive upgrades with full production scheduled for mid-2027, reaching an annual single-shift output of 50,000 vehicles at full capacity. The Rosslyn plant marks a milestone in Chery’s global strategy, advancing localized operations across Africa. Chery has rolled out a full localization roadmap targeting a 40% local component sourcing rate by 2028.

The facility is positioned as a comprehensive automotive hub integrating R&D, manufacturing, supply chain management, technical training and export distribution, forming Chery’s regional operational center for Southern Africa. Chery’s overseas strategy evolves from simple product exports to building end-to-end localized industrial systems, maturing its global operational capabilities.
